Dear all,
The theme of the first two weeks on The Student Voice has been the dining hall! Thank you to all of you who have posted feedback and suggested improvements. Based on these, we have made the following changes:
1. The schedule is now as published in the Blue Book which should be fairly split across year groups
2. The layout of the servery will be changed to ensure there are three queues once you are inside to speed up food service
3. Clear signs to be displayed above the food counters so you can choose what you want more quickly and join the correct queue
Hopefully this will enable things to move a bit more quickly. We have really appreciated your patience as we all get used to the new layout and systems and please do continue to feed back your suggestions about how we can make it feel safer and a happy place for everyone to enjoy lunch.
The other feedback we have had is about the safety of the gender neutral toilets in Central Hall. Last year, we increased staff duties and patrols around toilets with the aim of ensuring pupils do not hang around in them in groups. There are some concerns amongst pupils that this is still happening in the GN toilets which makes pupils who prefer to use these feed unsafe. Please may we ask you to be mindful that no toilets are for pupils to gather in; you should use common rooms and quads etc. for socialising. We will also be taking this feedback to Pupil Action Committees to consider how some design changes to the toilets could also make them safer. These toilets are due to be refurbished during October half term so do come along to PAC this half term to have your say!
